Poem of the Day

Imagination
By Corey Jensen

With wide open eyes I stare
at the fan swiftly spinning
in Circles; so many circles.
I stare, and the fan changes
into an airplane propeller
I start to hear the soft buzz
of the plane flying towards me.
Another flash, and music
plays a soft, sweet melody
as the fan shape shifts into
the Merry-go-round from
last year’s county fair.
My mind enjoys the game
so the fan puts on costumes
like dress-up or kaleidoscopes.
 Windmill, weed whacker, blender,
Helicopter, and a new speed boat.
An hour later, the phone rings,
and my spinning head begins
to twirl like a baton while
my vision blurs until equilibrium
safely lands me  onto the
launch pad in the living room.
