Why weekends can suck for writing?

Friday, I wrote about 380 words.  120 short of what I needed to write.  I planned on writing the 120 more.  I really planned on doing it.  But I didn't.  This is Why I Didn't:

  1. I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1.  Well worth my time.  Awesome movie.  The entire time I kept thinking--Note to self.  Ask Santa for a wand for Christmas.  I think I want one made of willow, 11 inches, with a dragon-heart string core.
  2. When I got home I was starving.  Famished.  Deathly hungry.  Like a raccoon trapped in a metal trap for a couple of days.  Well not quite that hungry.  Anyway.  I went to In and Out for dinner.  My roommate said, "This is the best food in the world."  I said, "I doubt that."  It wasn't the best food ever.  I felt sick afterward.
  3. I got bored.  I didn't want to write.  I didn't want to hang out.  I didn't want to watch another movie.  I did want to go to bed.  I went to bed at 10:00 pm.
Saturday.  I wrote zero words.  That's right.  Zero. Epic failure.  Here's why:

  1. 8:00 am.  I woke up and played basketball.  This was definitely a great use of my time.  I needed the exercise.  Sometimes I feel like I have forgotten how to run.  It's good to run every once and awhile.
  2. We ate Beto's for breakfast.  We equals my brother Nate and my roommates Jeff, Caleb, and Trent.  We watched college football and ate burritos.
  3. Vegitated
  4. Had tithing settlement.  Great.  I also had a temple recommend interview.  Also great.
  5. Vegitated  some more.
  6. Went to the BYU football game.  Truth to be told I didn't enjoy this game very much.  We slaughtered the other team.  The people in front of me kept standing on the bleachers so I couldn't see.  It was cold.  We left early to go to the basketball game.
  7. BYU basketball game.  I loved it.  Jimmer dunked it.  Both Collinsworth's dunked it.  We destroyed the other team.  I missed basketball games while on my mission.
  8. I was starving again.  Went to the store.  Bought meat for steaks.  Ate steaks.  Went to bed at 12:00pm.
Sunday.  I wrote 570 words this morning.  Go me.  Now I just have to make up for the other 550 words that I misplaced over the weekend.  My novel feels like it is moving so slowly, but If I'm anything like the tortoise, slow and easy wins the race.  I do mention a tortoise in my novel by the way.  I hope you all are doing better at whatever your goals are.

My favorite book right now is "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson.  This will probably change sometime soon.  I go through favorite books as quick as some of my friends go through girlfriends.

Goodbye for now,
